Impact is owned and operated by Ivan Radovanovic; a trainer who prefers the title Health Coach. Like many, Ivan’s career began in a field that supported him in all aspects of his life, apart from bringing him mental fulfillment. Craving purpose in his day-to-day life, Ivan left his steady career in the trades and focused on his personal passion, fitness. Over the past 10 years, Ivan’s love for health and fitness journeyed him to work for gyms such as Steve Nash, World Health Club, and GoodLife. After spending time in management where he still balanced training clients of all ages, fitness and mobility levels, he eventually made the move to create his own platform. Jennifer Hendricken

Jennifer is passionate about introducing the health and wellness benefits of acupuncture and it’s related modalities to all those who enjoy leading an active lifestyle.

For help with muscle recovery, relief of muscle and joint pain, and other chronic pain issues, Jenn enjoys not only treating symptoms to provide relief, but also finding the root cause of any dysfunction and educating her patients about the many benefits of these alternative treatments.

A board certified acupuncturist by the CAAA in Alberta, Jennifer has a background working with adults and youth dealing with physical and mental health issues. Her previous work in Social Work has given her a special interest in using acupuncture to treat those suffering with Mental Health issues.  

When not working with patients, Jenn can be found in the gym as an avid weight trainer, and enjoying the outdoors with her two dogs.

In 2011 she underwent open heart surgery to correct a congenital heart defect, which started her interest in rehabilitative fitness training.

Jack Haworth

I grew up in England where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition. I then went on to complete my Masters in Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2013 where, whilst writing my thesis, I first explored the benefits of compression and contrast therapy as recovery interventions for athletes, post performance . For my final placement, I chose to come to Alberta to explore the profession overseas and to be closer to the mountains. I instantly felt like I belonged here and decided to move in January 2014, joining the Pivotal team in 2016. I’m also co-owner of ARC by Pivotal Physiotherapy.

Having completed my CSCS through the NSCA, I have a strong belief in functional rehabilitation and my treatment model is to facilitate tissue adaptation by prescribing functional exercise alongside anti inflammatory interventions. This is aimed at increasing tissue extensibility and joint range of motion with stretching and flexibility work, or to increase neuromuscular recruitment along with the associated strength benefits from a progressive loading program. I believe that alongside traditional techniques such as joint manipulation, dry needling and muscle energy techniques that functional rehabilitation offers the best potential outcome for all athletes and patients.

On my off time, I enjoy CrossFit, rugby, golf and exploring the great outdoors!

Style/approach:

My teaching philosophy consists of instilling the core concepts and techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in beginners to ensure they develop a strong foundation. From there new learners can develop their own unique styles and approaches. For novice and more advanced practitioners, I like to work on enforcing technical proficiency as well as developing an attack-style mentality. This includes attacking from both top and bottom positions, as well as focusing on the principles of base, balance, posture and leverage.

Why did you start?

From the moment I first grappled with my brother, I was hooked. I became passionate about mastering this sport and becoming the best I could be. What especially appealed to me about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was the knowledge that through skill and training I could defend myself from vulnerable positions against much larger and stronger individuals.

What keeps you going?

The lifestyle and cerebral nature of jiu-jitsu keeps pushing me to keep training and sparked my interest in teaching. I love how this sport provides me also with an opportunity to constantly meet new people and build a community based on a common interest. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than just a martial art. If you choose to adopt the lifestyle and principles, it can encompass and change your life for the better.

Personal Trainer

Ian Wheat

Ian Started Strength Training over 10 years ago. He was 145lbs in Grade 12 and wanted to get bigger and stronger so he could be more competitive. 

He spent a few years Bodybuilding to put on size after high school. He got to 180lbs before he started a job as a commercial mover after finishing university. His weight went down to 155lbs because of a poor lifestyle so he got a trainer and put the weight back on. This time he was taught how to do different exercises and was exposed to a more methodical approach to training. He got more interested in the science behind training and eventually took a diploma program and a certification, becoming a personal trainer.

He was hired before he finished the program and spent the next 4 years working with General Population clients. He had a natural talent for strength training and eventually found powerlifting. This enabled Ian to get to 215lbs and build a niche around powerlifting; taking the Canadian Powerlifting Union Coaching Course after coaching private clients for a few years. 

Since he has started coaching, Ian has had multiple national-level powerlifters, many of which own Provincial records. His Lifter achieved Best Female Bench Press at the 2019 APU Provincials and 2019 Westerns, has worked for Team Alberta at CPU Powerlifting Nationals and has an international level lifter in another federation; raw with wraps. 

After Ian moved to Evolve, he discovered the sport of Strongman. He has coached Strongman/Strongwoman Athletes in multiple competitions, competed himself and achieved 3rd place at the 2019 Spruce Grove’s Strongest; lightweight men category at 180lbs Bodyweight in a <231lbs weight class

When Kyle Smith first started his health journey it was because he was sick of feeling weak, insecure, struggling with digestion and low energy levels. This is what drove him to change.

Sharyn graduated from MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy with the 2-year diploma in Remedial Massage. She specializes in deep tissue, trigger point treatment, myofascial release, and sports massage. She has helped people recover from vehicle injuries, sports injuries, stress related pain, and general discomfort. Sharyn strives to provide her clients with an effective therapeutic treatment to help release holding patterns and increase range of motion and circulation; bringing relief from discomfort whether it be caused by injury, acute or chronic pain, repetitive movement, or the stress of daily life.

Sharyn is an athlete herself, she has enjoyed playing rugby, volleyball, basketball, softball, slo-pitch, running, and cycling. Sharyn has used her massage therapy to work with both local and international rugby clubs. Sharyn has ‘real-life’ experiences in the injury, pain, and recovery department. Fitness has always been a focus in my life via competitive swimming, basketball, and volleyball and through working in the industry for over 10 years. During this time I had many roles but found my passion in Personal Training. I’ve learnt not only the importance of exercise for physical health but also the enormous impact it has on mental well-being. I know how much personal connection and support can impact our trajectory in life. If you find this is an area where you are struggling, I am here to help!

My goal as a Personal Trainer is to provide an experience that leaves my clients feeling better than they did when they walked through the door. Sydney has always been active with sports when she was younger, and has transitioned more into personal fitness in the last 8 years. Hi, my name is Rosa, and I am a registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in Edmonton – Canada. First, I would like to tell you a little about my experience in the health and fitness industry. I have a degree as a Physiotherapist from my home country Colombia in 2003. For many years I was working with countless people who had physical limitations due to past injuries and/or muscular imbalances, then when I arrived in Canada I decided to work with YMCA as a personal trainer and cardio dance instructor until 2019. In Canada, my focus has always been to renew my studies and re-enter my field, as a result, I enrolled as a registered Massage Therapist. This has provided me with opportunities to refresh and gain new knowledge in two different areas of work that are very compatible together.

Xanthinna McMahon is a Canfitpro Certified trainer with a background in dance and group fitness. She grew up dancing which initiated her love of movement, and when she decided to embark on a new path, she became dedicated to resistance training. Her background is in luxury retail where she learned a lot about curating an exceptional client experience centered around clients needs. Recently, she left her long term leadership role to pursue fitness as a full time career as she believes in following your passion, ALWAYS. Angela Das

Angela Das is a registered psychologist with the province of Alberta.  She graduated from Athabasca University with her Masters in Counselling in 2016.  She has worked in a wide variety of settings including non for profits, both elementary and secondary highschools, seniors associations, and now private practice.  These different locations gave her a breadth of different client demographics and cultures to work with.  Angela also has a special interest in Sport Psychology and performance, which pairs with her personal experience in both team and individual sport.  
 
Angela welcomes all ages in her practice and can address a wide variety of concerns.  She works with individuals, couples and families.  Angela now offers both in-person and online sessions.  Her therapy style can be described as eclectic as she pulls techniques from several different modalities in order to fit each individual client’s unique needs.  She is person-centered, which provides a teammate approach to counselling goals.  She strives to help her clients reach an overall higher potential by encouraging each person to see his/her/their own strengths and abilities.  Angela believes in better accessibility and offers sliding scale to those without insurance.
